Project description:
Is it still worth investing in a higher education degree? Does it still guarantee better wages and good jobs? What other benefits come from higher education? Does it have positive effects on individual health and well-being? Does it motivate positive behaviors from a collective point of view, capable of promoting political participation, trust in others, and tolerance for difference? This work proposes to identify and measure comprehensively, rigorously and systematically the benefits of higher education in Portugal. We look at these as being multidimensional: concerning consumption and investment, being individual and collective. Even within a increasingly competitive and challenging context for young graduates, this study shows that investing in higher education still pays off.
